Barbara Smith, age 84, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Azura Memory Care.  She was born the daughter of Alvin and Laura (Behring) Kubly on November 17, 1939.  She graduated from Monroe High School.  Barb was united in marriage to Gerald Smith in 1968. 

Barb worked in the courthouse for the Register of Deeds and Taxes.  After she retired, she farmed with her husband.  She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, gardening, and flowers.  Barb will be remembered as a kind, caring, and thoughtful woman. 

Barb is survived by her son, Barry (Suzanne) Kubly of Monroe; grandchildren, Tyler Kubly of Janesville and Jesse (Andrea) Evans of Brodhead; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Kaylee Evans.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; brother, Larry Kubly; and sister, Sally Pooler. 

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:15 AM at Greenwood Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
