MONROE - A Texas woman was piloting the plane that made an emergency landing in Monroe's Industrial Park Saturday, Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley said Monday.
Margaret J. Hastedt, 47, College Station, Texas, was flying from Galesburg, Ill., to Portage when the airplane began to have engine problems.
The plane made an emergency landing in the 300 block of North 29th Avenue at about 2:15 p.m.
Monroe Police Chief Fred Kelley said the plane was about the size of a small truck. After the plane landed, the wings were folded down and the plane was towed to the Monroe Municipal Airport.
Kelley said the reason for the engine problem hasn't been determined. The Federal Aviation Administration will inspect the aircraft, Kelley said.
No one was injured in the incident. Hastedt was the only person in the plane.
The Monroe Fire Department and Green County Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.
