MONROE — The reconstruction of 31st Avenue was slated to start up again on Monday, April 20.
The general contractor, H. James, will start working on 31st Avenue from 11th Street to 13th Street. This section of 31st Avenue will be closed to thru traffic while work is being completed during the day.
“They will be starting on water main installation along the east side of 31st Avenue from 11th Street to 13th Street,” Monroe Public Works director Al Gerber said.
The 13th Street and 31st Avenue intersection work has been bid out and City Council will be awarding the contract April 20 to Rock Road Companies.
“They will be in the process of finalizing contract documents, ordering materials, and composing a work schedule in the next fee weeks. The utility companies are also finalizing their work plans for the relocation of electric, gas, and telephone,” Gerber added.
