MONROE - A special program featuring the music of Joel Raney will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Union Presbyterian Church, 2707 5th St.
The program will consist of piano/organ duets and some piano/organ with handchimes, as well as a unique piece with four pianos. Vocal soloist on one the selections will be Susan Anderson. Those participating on keyboards will be Simone Petitjean; Julie Shipe McClain, director of music at United Methodist Church, Monroe; Deborah Krauss Smith, director of music at St. John Church, Monroe; and Maynard Heins, director of music at Union Presbyterian Church, Monroe. The Union Presbyterian Handchimes will also play two individual pieces in the program.
Joel Raney is a well-known church musician, writing both choral and piano selection. The concert is free and open to the public.
