TOWN OF GRATIOT — A 44-year-old rural Gratiot man died after a crash Friday evening.

Bobby L. Dicks II died at UW Hospital in Madison, where he was taken by Med Flight helicopter after the crash on Wisconsin 78 at Pecatonica Shores Lane.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Dicks was driving north on 78 around 8:15 p.m. when he lost control of his car and it went into the east-side ditch, crossed Pecatonica Shores Lane, hit a culvert and stopped north of the intersection in the ditch.

Gratiot Fire and First Responders and Green County EMS assisted at the scene.

Dicks is the third fatality on Lafayette County highways this year.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
