MONROE - The Monroe Times and Wisconsin Sports Network are teaming up to make an online connection between local and statewide high school sports for the visitors of its Web sites.

The Times recently agreed to be a media partner with Wisconsin Sports Network (www.WisSports.net), an online site owned by TDS Telecom that contains information about sports teams from every Wisconsin high schools. The Times is providing its stories about local sports teams and athletes to be published on WisSports.net. Visitors to Wisconsin Sports Network online can access those stories through the home page of their favorite high school team.

WisSports.net is one of the top five independently run high school sports sites in the nation. Since its debut in 2002 (as Wishoops.net), WisSports.net has accumulated more than 200 million page views and more than 750,000 unique IP addresses.

"We're excited about being teammates in this venture because it will draw additional attention to our local high school teams and the athletes who work hard for that attention," Times Editor Jeff Rogers said.

Times stories on WisSports.net link back to the Monroe Times' site, themonroetimes.com. The Times' online site also now includes a direct link to WisSports.net.
