MONROE - The Monroe Public Library will be welcoming new director Suzann Holland and honoring past directors Barbara Brewer and Lisa Cihlar during a drop-in reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 on the first floor of the Monroe Public Library.
The public is invited to attend this event which is being hosted by The Friends of the Monroe Public Library and the Monroe Public Library Board of Trustees. Refreshments are being provided by The Friends of the Monroe Public Library and Café Claudeen.
Holland, who had previously been director at the Oskaloosa Public Library, Oskaloosa, Iowa, has been Monroe Public Library's director since July 1, when Brewer retired after five years of service. Cihlar retired in 2004 after seven years of service as library director.
Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
