PECATONICA — Illinois State Police District 16 Commander, Lieutenant Joseph Blanchette, has announced District 16 enforcement figures and activity for the month of March.
Illinois State Police District 16 Troopers issued 634 total citations and 673 written warnings during the month of March. Speed violations accounted for 267 citations. Seventy citations were issued for occupant restraint violations and 53 enforcement documents were issued for distracted driving violations.
Troopers investigated 18 traffic crashes and assisted 143 motorists. Another 148 commercial motor vehicle inspections were completed with 9 drivers and/or vehicles being placed out of service.
Troopers made 14 arrests for driving under the influence and 18 criminal arrests. Twenty-four enforcement documents were issued for Scott’s Law violations. Ten school safety checks were performed by troopers.
District 16, which encompasses Jo Daviess, Stephenson, Winnebago, and Boone Counties, had four traffic fatalities in March.
