MONROE —  On May 27: 

●  A vehicle fled after a deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop for speeding at 6:33 p.m. in the W7500 block of Franklin Road, Town of Cadiz. The vehicle then failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Ullom Road. The driver lost control exiting the roadway and entered the west ditch. The driver fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies located the driver and identified as Mark A. Soddy, 35, Browntown. He was arrested on a felony charge of knowingly fleeing an officer. He was also cited for speeding and failure to keep vehicle under control. He was jailed.

On June 3: 

●   No injuries were reported from a semi in the ditch at 9:39 a.m. in the W9000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz. DJ C. Ray, 22, Urbana, Iowa, was eastbound when the semi caught edge of the roadway and entered the ditch. The semi sustained moderate damage. It was towed. 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 11:34 a.m. in the 100 block of South Mill Street, Town of Cadiz. Ryan T. Swettler, 33, Cuba City, was attempting to park when his trailer hit a legally parked unoccupied vehicle. The trailer sustained minor damage. The parked vehicle sustained minor damage.  

●  Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 4:20 p.m. June 6 in the N700 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. Oscar Eduardo Acosta Cruz, 58, Freeport, was southbound when he began slowing down to pull over onto the shoulder when a vehicle behind him hit his vehicle. The second vehicle was operated by Elizabeth S. Swanson, 42, Thomson, Illinois. Acosta Cruz’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Swanson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Swanson was cited for following too closely. 

On June 9: 

●  Deputies responded for a single-vehicle crash at 5:49 a.m. in the W5000 block of Kubly Road, Town of New Glarus. Upon arrival, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle was located at a residence. Investigation revealed Dane F. Duerst, 18, New Glarus, was westbound when he lost control and hit a guardrail. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. He was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, hit-and-run to property adjacent to highway, unsafe lane deviation and inattentive driving. He was also cited for obstruction. 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 7:58 a.m. in the N4700 block of Wis. 59, Town of Sylvester. Brianne M. Schofield, 22, Freeport, lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve, exited the roadway and entered the ditch. The vehicle sustained functional damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 2:27 p.m. June 10 on Wis. 59 and Wis. 104, Town of Albany. Helen D. Heisz, 68, Albany, was on Wis. 59 waiting for traffic on Wis. 104 before turning when a vehicle hit the rear of her vehicle operated by Rochelle R. Dennis, 42, Albany. Heisz’s vehicle sustained functional rear-end damage. Dennis’s vehicle sustained functional front-end damage. She was cited for following too closely. 

On June 12: 

●  Deputies were investigating a hit-and-run crash at 5:58 p.m. in the N4500 block of County E, Town of Decatur when an eastbound vehicle operated by Cole B. Peschang, 19, Beloit, failed to negotiate a curve and entered the east ditch hitting landscaping rocks and a fence. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Peschang was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence. He was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration and failure to keep vehicle under control. He was released to a responsible party.  

●  Nichole S. Federman, 43, Mineral Point, was transported for medical observation of injuries sustained from a single-vehicle crash at 6:25 p.m. on County A and Vinger Road, Town of Adams. Ryan J. Federman, 43, Mineral Point, was southbound on Vinger Road when he struck a pothole while attempting to stop causing him to lay his motorcycle. Neither one was wearing a helmet. He was cited for operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement. 

On June 13: 

●  A single-vehicle crash was reported at 7:31 p.m. in the W2200 block of Cadiz Springs Road, Town of Cadiz. This remains under investigation. 

●  A single-vehicle crash was reported at 9:29 p.m. in the N1900 block of Wis. 69, Town of Clarno. This remains under investigation.

On June 15: 

●  Minor injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 1:19 p.m. in the N4900 block of County J, Town of Washington. Kristin M. Brickson, 28, Dodgeville, was northbound when she lost control of her vehicle. She exited the roadway, hit an embankment and went airborne coming to rest in a field. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. She was cited for driving after revocation, inattentive driving and no vehicle insurance. Green County EMS and Monticello Fire Department assisted. 

●  No injuries were reported from a tractor vs. vehicle crash at 2:34 p.m. in the N4500 block of County N, Town of Monroe. Lonnie L. Krebs, 59, Blanchardville, was southbound operating a farm tractor hauling a hay rake. A vehicle operated by Haley N. Ferro, 27, Monticello, attempted to pass him on the left while he was attempting to turn east into a driveway and hit the tractor. Ferro’s vehicle sustained functional damage. 

●  Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 5:33 p.m. in the W3700 block of Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester. Melissa D. Hardy, 48, Brodhead, was eastbound when she proceeded to change lanes and was hit by another eastbound vehicle operated by Sequoia R. Vanfossen, 21, Juda. Both vehicles sustained functional damage. Vanfossen was cited for following too closely and failure to maintain brakes. Monroe Police Department assisted.


Lafayette County Sheriff

●  DARLINGTON — No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 5:25 p.m. May 27 on English Hollow Road, Town of Fayette. Jimmy W. Mattison Jr, 39, Mineral Point, was southbound when he swerved to miss a deer and hit a rock wall. The vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed.

●  Tyler J. Corning, 22, Argyle, was transported by ambulance to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained from a one-vehicle accident at 2:40 a.m. June 3 on County D, Town of Wayne. He was traveling north when he failed to negotiate a curve which caused him to exit the roadway and enter the southbound ditch. Speed and alcohol appear to be contributing factors. His 2008 Mazda sustained severe damage. It was towed. He was cited for operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control, unreasonable and imprudent speed and failure to fasten seatbelt. Green County EMS, South Wayne First Response and South Wayne Fire Department assisted. 

●  Rachel J. Reichling, 29, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:18 p.m. June 4 on Dobbs West Road, Town of Lamont. Her 2013 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. 

On June 5: 

●  Shaun D. Juedes, 33, Cuba City, reported hitting a deer at 5:45 a.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont. His 2011 Volkswagen sustained moderate damage. 

●  Makayla L. Evanoff, 31, Waterford, reported hitting a deer at 6:19 a.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. Her 2015 Nissan sustained moderate damage. 

●  Patrick W. McCarville, 67, Belmont, reported hitting a deer at 9:37 p.m. June 6 on County G, Town of Belmont. His 1953 Ford sustained moderate damage.

● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 8:43 a.m. June 8 on County G, Town of Belmont. Scott D. Rood, 35, Platteville, was traveling on County G when he lost control of his vehicle exiting the roadway and hitting a fence. His 2007 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage. It was towed. Belmont Fire and Belmont EMS assisted. 

On June 11: 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 4:30 p.m. on County M, Town of Wiota. Steven J. Boyle, 69, Darlington, was southbound on Fork Road, stopped at stop sign and proceeded on. He pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle operated by Isaiah A. Goebel, 31, Darlington. Boyle’s 2008 Chrysler sustained severe damage. It was towed. Goebel’s 2004 Chevrolet, owned by Tuescher Electric and Refrigeration, sustained minor damage. Wiota Fire Department, Argyle EMS and Wiota First Response assisted.
