Monroe Police

MONROE —  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 5:53 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 400 block of 4th Avenue West. Uskana Alimi, 20, Amherst, was traveling south and attempted to pass another vehicle, also southbound. The two vehicles collided when the vehicle being passed was attempting to turn right into a parking lot. Alimi was cited for passing on the right. One of the vehicles was towed. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 10:53 a.m. Jan. 4 in the N5900 block of County E, Town of Albany. Nathan M. Conway, 39, Albany, was traveling south in a pickup truck and pulling a trailer with a snowmobile. The trailer started to fishtail, and the truck and trailer entered the ditch and came to a rest. The snowmobile was ejected from the trailer and collided with a traffic sign. The truck sustained minor damage. The snowmobile sustained damage. 

On Jan. 5: 

●  Non-life threatening injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 10:58 a.m. on Wis. 81 and County N, Town of Monroe. Johann Bayer, 87, Argyle, was traveling north on County N approaching the Wis. 81 intersection. He stopped at the stop sign and entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound vehicle on Wis. 81 operated by Lonnie L. Krebs, 58, Blanchardville. Bayer’s vehicle sustained severe front-end damage with air bag deployment. Krebs’ vehicle sustained severe damage. Both were towed. Green County EMS and Monroe Rural Fire Department assisted. Bayer was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign. 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 9:05 p.m. on Wis. 104 and Brooklyn Albany Road, Town of Albany. Grant L. Lincoln, 27, Monroe, was traveling south on Wis. 104 when a vehicle traveling east on Brooklyn Albany Road failed to stop at the intersection and collided with his vehicle. The vehicle, a newer Ford F250, fled the scene. Lincoln’s vehicle sustained functional damage. 

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 12:54 p.m. Jan. 6 on 9th Street and 12th Avenue. Meshell C. Akins, 25, Monroe, was northbound on 12th Avenue and stopped at the stop sign at 9th Street then pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle on 9th Street and they collided. Akins was cited for failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

● No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 4:54 a.m. Jan. 7 on County M and County B, Town of Cadiz. Jeremy J. Sheppard, 46, Freeport, was northbound on County M approaching the County B intersection when his vehicle exited the roadway and entered the north ditch of County B and collided with a traffic sign due to heavy fog. His vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 9:34 a.m. Jan. 8 on Wis. 69 and East Coates Avenue, Town of Mount Pleasant. Norma A. Richmond, 85, Oregon, was in the left turn lane when she merged into the southbound lane and was hit by a vehicle operated by Thomas A. Karls, 60, Lodi. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Richmond was cited for failure to follow indicated turn.

DARLINGTON —

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 8:12 p.m. Dec. 24 on Saint Rose Road, Town of Benton. Joseph A. Farence, 17, Walworth, was traveling on County H when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the roadway hitting a stop sign then left the roadway and entered a field. His 2008 Ford sustained moderate damage. He was cited for failure to maintain control. 

On Dec. 26: 

●  Steve J. Fischer, 60, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 11:25 a.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs. His 2014 Dodge sustained minor damage. 

●  Linda S. Jeremiason, 68, Blanchardville, reported hitting a horse at 1:07 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. Her 2001 Ford sustained severe damage. It was towed. A deputy, Argyle EMS and Argyle Fire assisted. 

●  Carl L. Anderson, 57, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 2:37 p.m. on Riverbend Road, Town of Gratiot. His 2005 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. 

On Dec. 27: 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle accident at 2:42 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Mineral Point. Charles J. Davis, 31, Platteville, was southbound when he left the roadway and slid down an embankment. His 1994 Plymouth sustained severe damage. It was towed. He was cited for driving without a valid license. 

●  Shullsburg Fire and Shullsburg EMS responded for a two-vehicle accident at 6:15 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. Becky J. Tuttle, 38, was westbound when she lost control and crossed the center line due to road conditions. Lori J. Jensen, 60, Dubuque, was eastbound when she hit Tuttle’s car. Both Tuttle and her passenger reported minor injuries and were transported to Memorial Hospital. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. They were towed. A deputy and Shullsburg police assisted.
