Violet Marie (Austin) Stace
OREGON/STOUGHTON - Violet Marie (Austin) Stace, age 95, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Skaalen Home in Stoughton. She was born on April 3, 1915, in Lawrence County, Ill., the daughter of mother, Minda. Violet eventually had brothers, Chester and J.T. "Roy." She grew up in St. Francisville, Ill. and later married Charles R. Richardson of the same city. They had a son, Lloyd R. Richardson. Lloyd took care of and watched over both his father and mother, until they went to their maker. Violet married Raymond Stace of Oregon. He preceded her in death. Violet was a housewife/mother, farm wife, and nursing home worker. She was a resident of Skaalen Home for the past 10 years. Violet had many friends, but one of her most favorite people was Jessie Walker, who sang to her and she would travel to see him perform.
She is survived by her son, Lloyd Richardson; four grandsons; and sister-in-law, Betty Meeks and family of Indiana. Violet was preceded in death by her husbands; a grandson; and brothers, Chester and Roy.
Funeral services will be held at SKAALEN HOME, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010. Visitation will be at Skaalen Home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
"Mom, I turn you over to the one who made you. Be good, I'll see you one day." Phyllis will miss you too.
