Shirley R. Dobler, age 85 of Monroe, Wisconsin passed away on April 7, 2012 at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe. She was born July 18, 1926 in Freeport, IL to Edward and Mina (Reed) Smith. Shirley was married to Earl E. Dobler on January 31, 1944 in Warren, IL. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1993.

They farmed together in the North East Warren area for 26 years until retiring to South Wayne, WI. Shirley enjoyed Bingo, embroidery and loved to go to the casino boats. She was a member of the Warren United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Klaas of Whitehall, Montana; 6 grandchildren; Laurie (Terry) Harris and Marlene (Brian) Randall both of Freeport, IL, Ellsworth (Junior) (Lisa) Dascher and Kirk Klaas all of Lena, IL, Allen (Dawn) Sweeney and Sammy Sweeney of Winslow, IL. 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, and a daughter Bonnie Sweeney on April 20, 2004.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 11:00 am until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Pastor Randy Nicholas will officiate at the services.

Burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren, IL.

A luncheon will follow at the Warren American Legion in Warren.
