Richard Calvin "Dick" Haglund, age 90, passed away on November 17, 2017 in Monroe, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his brother James David Haglund, six children: Janell Haglund (Thomas) Ray (Windsor, CO); Becky Haglund (Steven) Tousey (Evanston, IL); Randall (Shirley) Haglund (Monroe, WI); Denis (Susan) Haglund (Boise, ID); Dawn Haglund (Washington, DC) and Jim Yanik (Minneapolis, MN); ten grandchildren: Meaghan (Rob) Moll, James (Brittany) Ray, Kristopher Ray, Duncan Ray, Heidi (Eric) Rufer, Mallory (Jon) Molchin, Rachel (Zach) Reining, Nathaniel Haglund, Johanna (David) Jordan, Bethany Haglund and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Margaret Frances "Fran" Eliason Haglund, his parents Victor Emmanuel Haglund and Hannah Nathalie Haglund, and six siblings, Lorraine Genevieve Brask, Geraldine Corinne Murphy, Virgil "Bud" Emmanuel Haglund, June Nathalie Thompson, Warren Nyquist Haglund, Pauline Margaret "Peg" Monson.
Dick was born on August 20, 1927 in Dassel, MN and grew up on the family farm and later in Minneapolis. After high school he attended Trinity Bible College (now Trinity International University in Bannockburn, IL). He married his wife, Fran on September 5, 1953 at Riverside Evangelical Free Church in Minneapolis, MN.
Dick served as a Christian pastor with integrity, compassion and humor for over 50 years. He and his wife were servant leaders in all the communities in which they lived (Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, Minnesota, Florida, Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona), as they particularly cared for others during critical times of pain and grief, and lovingly served the elderly and their families.
A Celebration of Dick's life will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at the Peppercorn, with lunch to follow.
