Reva E. Jones, age 89 of Monroe, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at St. Clare Friedensheim, Monroe. Reva was born August 11, 1922 in Plover, Wisconsin, the daughter of Irving and Flossy (Jaquith) Brown. She attended college in Steven Point, WI, and served in Washington D.C. from 1944 to 1945 as a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES). Reva married Carroll Jones on March 5, 1948 in Rhinelander, WI. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church.
She is survived by her seven children, Robert (Melody) Jones of Beaver Dam, WI, Peter (Donna) Jones of Elcho, WI, Candace Klemm of Rockford, IL, Patti (Kevin) Wilson of Leaf River, IL, Leslie (David) Girardin of Prescott, AZ, Jim (Michelle) Jones of Tomahawk, WI, and Mark (Cheri) Jones of Crossville, TN; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Floetta Barton of Alabaster, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll in 1996; a granddaughter, Melissa Jones; nine sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at 2:30 p.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Michael Klarer, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
