Monroe Police

MONROE - William R. Ellison, 19, South Wayne, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting a $20 jewelry item at 6:54 p.m. Friday, March 23, from a business in the 400 block of West 8th Street. He was released pending court.

- Kenneth L. Ellsworth, 27, Monroe, was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way at 6:03 p.m. Sunday, March 25, after police and Green County EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision in the intersection of 4th Avenue and 6th Street. Ellsworth reportedly hit a motorcycle operated by Loren C. Tearman, 53, Albany. There was moderate damage to Ellsorth's vehicle and severe damage to Tearman's motorcycle, which was towed from the scene. Tearman was treated by EMS for injuries.

- Jean E. Justice, 17, Monroe, was cited for retail theft at 7:53 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at a business in the 400 block of West 8th Street.

- Slashed tires were reported at 9:11 a.m. Friday, March 23, on a vehicle parked in the 1900 block of 12th Street. There are no suspects, and the case is under investigation.

- A 30-day notice was mailed on Friday, March 23, to the owner of a residence in the 1400 block of 12th Avenue to remove an unregistered, inoperable vehicle stored in the yard.

- Police ordered at 1:52 p.m. Friday, March 23, that a fence be repaired around an inground pool at a foreclosed property in the 1400 block of 23rd Avenue. It is a violation of city code to have an open, unsecured inground pool.

- A broken trailer window was reported at 6:10 p.m. Friday, March 23, by a resident at the trailer park in the 500 block of West 21st Street.

- Police took a report at 8:59 a.m. Saturday, March 24, that a vehicle in the 1300 block of 14th Street had been egged.

- A hubcap theft was reported at 4:19 p.m. Saturday, March 24, in the 1700 block of 11th Street.

- A resident in the 2500 block of 6th Street reported at 7:38 p.m. Saturday, March 24, that a garden hose had been maliciously cut and as a result water ran all over the yard for about nine hours that day. The case is under investigation.

- Police took a report at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, March 25, that a vehicle at 20th Avenue and 16th Street had been egged.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Police are investigating ongoing thefts of money from a coin-operated carwash on Wisconsin 69 in New Glarus. The thefts have been ongoing for three or four months, according to Chief Burt Boldebuck. The latest theft was reported at 8:48 a.m. Friday, March 23.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Justin L. Buelteman, 18, Monroe, was arrested on a probation hold from the Department of Corrections in the 700 block of 15th Street at 7:38 p.m. Friday, March 23, after deputies stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Buelteman was also arrested on charges of possessing drug paraphernalia and unauthorized prescription pills. He was serving a five-year probation for 2010 burglary convictions.
