Albany Police

ALBANY - Dustin D. Schmid, 20, Albany, was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 4, on a warrant issued by Green County.



Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD - Kimberly Cross, 41, Brodhead, was cited for driving with a suspended license, a suspended or revoked registration, altering vehicle registration and failure to file an accident report at 1:34 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in the 1700 block of East 4th Avenue.

• David A. Scofield, Jr., 24, Brodhead, was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, on an apprehension request issued by the Probation and Parole Office. He was jailed.

• Brandon J. Collier, 35, Brodhead, was arrested at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, on a warrant issued by the Department of Corrections. He was jailed.

• Denise L. Hanson, 42, Brodhead, was arrested in the 2400 block of 1st Center Avenue at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, on a warrant issued by the Albany Municipal Court. Cash bond was posted, and she was released.

• Jacob S. Hoff, 23, Brodhead, was cited for lane deviation at 2:41 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the 1600 block of 1st Center Avenue.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Angela M. Reilly, 38, Belleville, was cited for driving with a revoked license and no vehicle insurance at 3:06 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, on Wis. 69 at Industrial Drive.

• Robert J. Russ, 25, Evansville, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 7:54 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, on Railroad Street at 6th Avenue.

• Matthew T. Schrieber, 35, New Glarus, was cited Monday, Dec. 2, for driving on a sidewalk, after police investigated a report of a vehicle driven on a sidewalk at New Glarus Middle School at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25.

• Sean A. Owen, 38, New Glarus, was cited for driving without vehicle insurance at 8:31 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, on 14th Avenue near 2nd Street.

• Police took reports Tuesday, Dec. 3, of two separate scam letters received by village residents. In both cases, the checks were to be cashed at a local bank and then or part of the money was to be sent out-of-state. No money was sent in either case.

• Animal neglect within the village was reported at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3. Police investigated and found that the animals were being taken care of and in good health.

• Annoying phone calls were reported at 1:21 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the 500 block of 14th Avenue.

• A fraud attempt was reported at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. The complainant reported a caller purporting to be from the gas company called and warned the service would be shut off if a payment was not made to an employee of the gas company who was on the way. The gas company advised police this is a scam and other customers have been reporting similar fraud attempts.

• The theft of a partial license plate from a vehicle in the 1100 block of 8th Street was reported at 5:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. The complainant reported someone had cut off the portion of the plate that includes the registration sticker.

• Eduardo Romero, 30, Madison, was cited for speeding at 8:57 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the 1400 block of Wis. 69.

• Suspicious activity was reported in the 900 block of 8th Street at 2:59 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. A person had exited an older model four-door white vehicle and was taking pictures of another vehicle. Police were given no other information.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Brent C. Patterson, 20, rural New Glarus, was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia after deputies responded at 5:50 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, to assist the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources with a traffic stop in the N9500 block of County O in New Glarus Township. Patterson was taken to the jail, booked and released pending court. The Green County K-9 team assisted at the scene.

• Catherine C. Large, 47, rural New Glarus, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies responded at 8:56 p.m. to a vehicle vs. power pole crash in the N9600 block of Primrose Center Road in New Glarus Township. The vehicle immediately fled the scene, but was later located at a nearby residence and Large identified as the driver. She was southbound when she lost control, went off the road and collided with the utility pole, then drove off. Her vehicle sustained severe damage. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was treated at a local hospital for injuries she sustained in the crash. She was also cited for failure to maintain control, failure to notify police of an accident, hit-and-run to property adjacent to the highway and failure to wear a seatbelt. She was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday, Dec. 6:

• A deputy responded at 12:35 a.m. to West High Street in Shullsburg for a complaint of a loud vehicle being operated in the area.

• Telephone harassment via unwanted text and voice messages was reported at 1 p.m. on Wis. 78 in Gratiot Township.

• South Wayne Mart was issued a citation at 1:46 p.m. for selling tobacco to minors.

• A deputy responded at 7 p.m. to a residence on Bethel Grove Road in Belmont Township for a welfare check and custody dispute.

• Kevin J. Garcia, 19, Freeport, was arrested on charges of speeding and driving without a license at 7:56 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Gratiot Township. He posted bond and was released.

On Saturday, Dec. 7:

• A deputy responded at 4:11 a.m. to remove several large empty boxes and other debris dropped on Wis. 81 in Darlington Township by an unknown vehicle that were creating a traffic hazard.

• Criminal damage to property was reported at 6:39 a.m. on Bridge Street in Gratiot.

• Jonathan M. Eddy, 31, Bettendorf, Iowa, was cited for speeding at 9:19 a.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• Kulbir Singh, 28, Atlanta, Ga., was cited for speeding and driving without a valid license or proof of vehicle insurance at 9:55 a.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• A deputy and the department's K-9 team assisted a Wisconsin State Trooper at 10:15 a.m. at the scene of a traffic stop on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• Ryan N. Tredinnick, 20, Emerald, was cited for driving with an expired vehicle registration and no proof of vehicle insurance at 11:49 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• Michael E. Adsit, 42, Beaver Dam, was cited for speeding at 12:12 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• A deputy assisted at 1:12 p.m. with tagging two deer struck by an unknown vehicle on Wis. 81 in Argyle Township.

• A deputy assisted the Darlington Police Department with traffic control at 6:25 p.m. on Main Street for the holiday parade.

On Sunday, Dec. 8:

• Marta L. Kreiss, 29, Galena, was cited for speeding and driving with a suspended license at 10:54 a.m. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• Kyle R. Bergen, 20, Madison, was cited for speeding and driving without proof of vehicle insurance at 11:17 am. on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township.

• Harrison T. Hansen, 24, Fitchburg, was cited for driving too fast for conditions after deputies responded at 1:49 p.m. to a two-vehicle accident with injuries on U.S. 151 in Belmont Township. Hansen rearended a Lafayette County Highway Department snowplow operated by David R. Bockhop, 64, Belmont. The snowplow was southbound with all emergency lighting activated. Hansen and his passenger, Paula M. Hobbins, 74, also of Fitchburg, were injured and taken by Belmont EMS to Southwest Health Center in Platteville. The 2001 Chrysler Hansen was driving was extensively damaged and towed. The snowplow was moderately damaged. The Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS assisted at the scene.

• Terry L. Travis, 58, Rowlett, Texas, was cited for failure to report an accident and hit-and-run on property adjacent to the roadway after a deputy responded at 7:46 p.m. to a hit-and-run accident on Union Street in Shullsburg. The vehicle traveled off the road and hit a cluster of mailboxes. Travis was later identified as the driver. He reported no injuries. The 2009 Nissan truck he was driving sustained minor damage.

• Augustine A. Thang, 21, Rock Island, Ill., was cited for failure to maintain control after a three-vehicle accident without injuries reported at 9:08 p.m. on U.S. 151 in Kendall Township. Thang was southbound when he lost control and he tried to slow down for a legally parked Lafayette County squad car that was assisting with traffic control for a vehicle in the ditch. The squad car had all emergency lighting activated. Thang's vehicle hit the rear of the squad and then went into the ditch, where it hit the vehicle had slid into the ditch and was awaiting a tow truck. Lafayette County Deputy Matthew J. Edge, and the driver of the vehicle in the ditch, Evan J. Feller, 20, Middleton, were occupants in the 2010 Ford Explorer squad. Tawk Nawl, 30, Grand Rapids, Mich., was an occupant in Thang's vehicle, which sustained moderate damage and was towed. Feller's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted with the accident investigation.
