Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Donald Lee Martinez, 23, Monroe, was arrested on a second-offense charge of driving while intoxicated after deputies stopped him and cited him for speeding on Wisconsin 69 at Melvin Road in Clarno Township at 2:28 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8. He was jailed pending release to a responsible party.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, Aug. 8:

- A deputy responded at 1:26 a.m. to a noise complaint on County J in Benton Township. The deputy deemed the complaint unfounded.

- A hit-and-run on North Street in Argyle was reported at 11:24 a.m. A parked vehicle belonging to a rental company had been struck sometime during the previous night.

- A theft at a residence on Wis. 81 in Darlington was reported at 11:50 a.m.

- A telephone scam and harassment incident was reported at 2:08 p.m. at a residence on Arbor Street in Benton. The resident had received a call traced to Jamaica, but did not participate in the scam. The sheriff's department advised the resident to have the phone company block the caller's number.
