Margaret A. Armstrong, 72, of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Monroe, passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at her home. She fought a long battle with COPD and cancer. She was born July 15, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Catherine and Edward McArdle. On April 23, 1960 she married Thomas Armstrong. They moved to Monroe in 1967. Margaret worked for many years at Schultz Pharmacy. Margaret is survived by her husband Tom. Two children Vicki (Daryl) Bennett and Russell (Darla) Armstrong. Four grandchildren Melissa (Dan) Andres, Jason Bennett, Ian and Maddalen Armstrong. And four great-grandchildren Ben, Lily and Allie Andres and Jennessa Powers. She is also survived by 5 sisters and 1 brother, many nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed. A memorial service is planned for Sept. 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. It will be at the Evangelical Free Church in Lena, IL.
