NORA - Lyle W. Bertalot, 79, of Nora, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at his home. Lyle was born on July 26, 1934 in Freeport, IL to Arrthur and Marie (Nieman) Bertalot. He was a graduate of Orangeville High School in 1952. Lyle married Marilyn Runkle-Janicke on August 27, 1982 in Monroe, WI. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War; upon returning he moved to Oneco where he was employed by Clarno Lumber Company. He moved to Nora in 1995 where he owned and operated his own saw sharpening service, and worked as a self-employed carpenter until his passing. He was a member of National Rifle Association, enjoyed fishing, woodcarving, and played locally for many baseball teams for 40 years.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Nora, IL; one stepson, Matthew Janicke of Nora; one granddaughter, Emily Janicke of Nora; two step-grandsons, Justin Buske of Apple River and Garriet Buske of Walnut, IL. One brother, Dale Bertalot of Monroe, WI. Many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Elda Murphy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday December 3, 2013 at the Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home in Warren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 till 7:00 PM on Monday December 2, 2013 at Bartell-Leamon Funeral Home.

Cremation rites will be accorded with a burial at a later date.

A memorial has been established in his name.
