Mrs. Florence Keener, 91, formerly of Monticello, WI, died on July 30, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, NC. She was born on December 19, 1918 in Monticello, WI, daughter of the late Emory C. Silver and Rose E. Beach Silver.
Mrs. Keener loved life especially gardening, playing games and cards, cross stitching and word puzzles. But most of all she loved and cherished her family. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and will be missed terribly by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen W. Keener and a daughter, Rosann Keener.
Mrs. Keener is survived by her son, Henry W. Keener and his partner, Ann Arfsten; daughters, Linda A. Wyss and her husband Jeffrey, Anna R. Keener, and Harriet K. Meetz and her husband Michael Solender; granddaughters, Christi Wyss Kazle and her husband Sean and Amy Wyss Sharp and her husband Drew; grandson, Ryan Wyss and his wife Deborah; and great-grandsons, Anton Kazle and Owen Kazle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Voegeli Newcomer Funeral Home, 360 South Garfield Street, Monticello, WI 53570. Interment will be private. Family and friends will gather for a luncheon following the service at Zwingli United Church of Christ, in Monticello.
