Delmar F. Stuessy, age 88, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born on July 13, 1920 in rural New Glarus; the son of Fred and Bertha (Voegeli) Stuessy. Delmar married Ruth Seeley Bohn on December 7, 1951 in New Glarus. He drove truck and worked as a press operator at Advance Transformer for 15 years, retiring in 1982. He belonged to the Swiss United Church of Christ; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Karen (Greg) Reddick of Dubuque, Iowa, step-daughter-in-law, Violet Bohn of Nekoosa, WI and a brother, Milton Stuessy of New Glarus, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, step-son, Larry Bohn, and grandson, Quinton Bohn.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Swiss United Church of Christ Cemetery, with Pastor Patricia Marty officiating. Memorials may be given in Delmar's name to the Swiss United Church of Christ. Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
