Delbert W. Lynch, age 91 of Browntown, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Graceland Manor in Monroe. Delbert was born December 28, 1918 on the Lynch home farm in Cadiz Township, the son of John W. and Nellie A. (Kundert) Lynch. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1938 and from a short course in Agriculture at U.W. Madison. He married Dorothy Mahlkuch on January 30, 1943 in Monroe. She preceded him in death on February 19, 1989.
Delbert farmed in Cadiz Township for many years and worked as a welder/mechanic for L&S Gas Co. in Warren, IL.
He loved welding, working on cars and tractors, and traveling the country with his friend Ole.
Delbert was a wonderful cook, enjoyed gardening, and deer hunting in Park Falls.
He is survived by his four children, LuAnn Lynch of Browntown, Karen (Charles) Dunlavey of Winslow, IL, Thomas Lynch of Janesville, and Rosemary Simonson of Scottsdale, AZ; seven grandchildren, Gary (Shelly) Lynch, Tiffany Lynch, Kevin (Val) Dunlavey, Brian (Staci) Dunlavey, Brett Dunlavey (Kim Kloepfer), Chad Simonson, and Dr. Nikki (Shaun) Miglore; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Garland, a resident at Pleasant View, and Gertrude Ayres of Middleton; and a special nephew, Wayne (Dana) Garland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sons in infancy, James and Michael; and a daughter-in-law, Dahla Lynch.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Pastor Ray Sowersby of Peace United Church of Christ, Browntown, will officiate with burial in Saucerman Cemetery, Cadiz Township.
