Darrel J. Foat, of Odenton, formerly of Wheaton, passed away at the age of 84. He was born to the late James H. and Vera A. Foat on September 23, 1929 in Rockford, IL. He graduated from South Wayne High School, South Wayne, WI in 1947. Darrel served in the U.S. Air Force Weather Service December 27, 1951 - December 7, 1955. He was married to Normalee on November 23, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monessen, PA. They resided in Wheaton, Maryland. He worked for the National Weather Service from 1956 - 1985. In retirement, he enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. Darrel also liked to travel and attended plays with Normalee. He worked in landscaping for individuals and Burning Tree Golf Course until he retired and moved to Odenton, MD, in 2006, where he enjoyed playing bocchi ball. Darrel was proud to have achieved his 5-gallon blood donor pin through the Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Normalee, son, Dana L. Foat and wife Kathryn of Fulton, MD, daughter, Dawn Solari and husband Giacomo of Franklin Lakes, NJ; grandson Kyle, brother Delbert Foat and wife Evelyn of Freeport, IL; sister Darlene Bennett and husband Robert of Platteville, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral and internment occurred in Maryland. Darrel's family invites you to join them to celebrate his life well lived at an open house from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., Sunday April 27, 2014 at Bridges Restaurant, Super 8 Hotel, 201 Christensen Drive in Darlington, WI. A Memorial Service by Pastor Bob Bennett of Leadmine Methodist Church is at 2:00 p.m. Please stop by during the open house hours to visit.
