Brodhead Police

BRODHEAD — For the week of Jan. 19-25, police performed 10 security checks, 44 citizen assists, 18 assists of other agencies, 21 follow-ups to incidents and 10 vehicle registrations; responded to 17 calls for service, 12 EMS calls, one fire call and eight 911 or BEEMS (Brodhead Elderly Emergency Monitoring System) calls; and made seven traffic stops. No mental health or detox transports were reported.

On Sunday, Jan. 19:

●  A Brodhead man, 56, was cited for a violation of the 48-hour parking ordinance at 9:44 a.m. in the 1100 block of East 2nd Avenue.

●  A Brodhead man, 25, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 3:49 p.m. in the 900 block of 21st Street.

●  A heavy truck in violation of city ordinance was reported at 4:49 p.m. in the 900 block of East 6th Avenue.

●  A heavy truck in violation of city ordinance was reported at 5:04 p.m. in the 300 block of 8th Street.

●  A vehicle parked left of center facing traffic was reported at 9:45 p.m. in the 800 block of 15th Street. A warning was issued.

On Monday, Jan. 20:

●  A Brodhead man, 24, was cited for a violation of the 48-hour parking ordinance at 3:26 a.m. in the 700 block of West 3rd Avenue.

●  A counterfeit bill being received was reported at 4:47 p.m. in the 800 block of East Exchange Street.

On Tuesday, Jan. 21:

●  A dog at large was reported at 7:04 p.m. in the 800 block of 13th Street. The owner was located prior to officer arrival.

On Wednesday, Jan. 22:

●  Disorderly conduct involving a vehicle being driven through a field was reported at 10:24 a.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. No charges were requested.

●  A dog running at large was reported at 2:48 p.m. in the 2100 block of West 9th Avenue. The dog returned to its residence upon officer arrival.

●  A Brodhead man, 31, was arrested at 5:48 p.m. in the 500 block of 1st Center Avenue on an apprehension request issued by the Beloit Police Department.

On Thursday, Jan. 23:

●  Forgery involving a falsified prescription being presented was reported at 3:43 p.m. in the 1000 block of 1st Center Avenue.

On Friday, Jan. 24:

●  A code violation of unregistered vehicles on the premises was reported at 4:22 p.m. in the 100 block of 9th Street. A warning was issued.

●  Fraud was reported at 5:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Exchange Street.

●  Police issued 27 citations for violations of the city’s winter parking ordinance prohibiting parking on streets after two inches of snowfall until all streets have been cleared.

On Saturday, Jan. 25:

●  A Brodhead woman, 38, was cited for allowing a dog to roam at large and for not having a dog license at 9:58 a.m. in the 1200 block of East 6th Avenue.

●  A hit-and-run accident with property damage was reported at 4:59 p.m. in the 900 block of East 4th Avenue. No suspects or vehicle description was available. The investigation continued.


Monroe Police

MONROE — Officers were called at 7:57 am. Thursday, Jan. 23, to a report of a person having threatened another with a knife outside a residence in the 900 block of 10th Street. The two people were acquainted. A knife was recovered at the scene. Investigation led to the arrest of James F. Von Arx, 66, Monroe, on a charge of disorderly conduct while armed. He was booked and then released pending court.

●  Bryce M. Messerli, 25, Monroe, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated in the 1200 block of 14th Avenue at 1:28 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25.  He was also cited for operating with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration and not having required vehicle lamps lit. He was released to a responsible person pending court.

●  Aidan J. Roesslein, 18, Monroe, was arrested on a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant for a probation violation and cited for driving with a suspended license at 6:34 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, following a traffic stop in the 400 block of 8th Street. He was jailed pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Friday, Jan. 10:

●  Daniel Conde-Zavaleta, 37, Darlington, was cited for driving without valid license at 3:01 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  David P. Long, 44, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for speeding at 11:45 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Lucas A. Noble, 22, South Wayne, was arrested on a probation and parole hold and his passenger Kresta L. Olson, 26, South Wayne, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:04 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Noble was jailed. Darlington police assisted on scene.

●  Theft was reported at 12:55 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle.

●  An erratic driver was reported at 4:15 p.m. on Van Buren Street in Benton.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 4:54 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to assist with traffic control at 5:57 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Tara M. Kruser, 40, Benton, was cited for non-registration of an auto, display of unauthorized sticker, no vehicle insurance and driving with a suspended license at 6:01 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton.

●  An animal bite was reported at 6:22 p.m. on County X, Town of Elk Grove. Platteville police assisted.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 7:18 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 8:49 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

On Saturday, Jan. 11:

●  Suspicious activity was reported at 4:26 p.m. on White Oak Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A deputy responded at 10:41 p.m. to Wis. 81, Town of Seymour to assist Platteville police. Darlington police assisted a deputy on scene.

On Sunday, Jan. 12:

●  Deputies responded for a commercial alarm at 12 a.m. on West Center Street in South Wayne.

●  Cory L. Stillmunkes, 45, Benton, was arrested by Belmont police for driving with a revoked license at 2:34 a.m. on Wis. 126 in Belmont. She was taken to the jail, where she was booked and released.

●  Phillip E. Neal, 49, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for speeding and driving without a license at 11:04 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 1:29 p.m. on County N, Town of Wayne.

●  A deputy responded for a residential alarm at 2:37 p.m. on Liberty Road, Town of Belmont.

●  Casey J. Bennett, 32, Benton, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license (revocation due to prior OWI) at 11:27 p.m. on County J in Benton, then booked at the jail and released.

On Tuesday, Jan. 14:

●  Kelton P. Prine, 27, Cuba City, was arrested and jailed on charges of false imprisonment, intimidating a victim, battery and disorderly conduct after a deputy responded to check welfare at 12:44 a.m. on County H, Town of Benton. Cuba City police, Darlington police and Grant County deputies assisted on scene.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 7:33 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy assisted Blanchardville police at 8:06 a.m. on Cross Street in Blanchardville.

●  Margaret A. Lucke, 56, Pleasant Prairie, was cited for speeding at 12:13 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 4:40 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Gratiot.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 6:22 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Gratiot.

●  Laura L. Gundlach, 51, Shullsburg, was cited for driving with a suspended license and no vehicle insurance at 8:24 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Gratiot.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15:

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 11:32 a.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

●  Cedric D. Moore, 36, Milwaukee, was arrested on two Lafayette County warrants at 11:42 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton, by a deputy assisting Wisconsin State Patrol. Moore was jailed.

●  A traffic complaint was reported at 4:09 p.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.

●  An injured animal was reported at 6:02 p.m. on Wildcat Road, Town of Darlington.

●  Marlon A. Serrano, 26, Belmont, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license after a deputy conducted a traffic stop at 8:47 p.m. on East Wisconsin Avenue in Belmont. Serrano was also cited for passing in a no-passing zone. He was booked at the jail and later released. The registered owner of the vehicle, Denis A. Zeas, 23, Darlington, was cited for permitting an unauthorized person to drive.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:47 p.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

On Thursday, Jan. 16:

●  A deputy came upon a disabled vehicle at 12:07 a.m. on County Shop Road in Darlington.

●  An abandoned vehicle was reported at 7:59 a.m. on County DD, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy assisted Darlington police with a lift assist at 9:57 a.m. on Main Street in Darlington.

●  Bernard P. Steffes, 66, Dickeyville, was cited for speeding at 4:16 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  Matthew C. Cain, 51, Galena, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 5:20 p.m. on County W, Town of White Oak Springs.

●  Deputies assisted Darlington police with a lift assist at 6:36 p.m. on Main Street in Darlington.

●  A 911 misdial was reported at 6:49 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot.

●  A deputy came upon a disabled vehicle at 9:01 p.m. on County U, Town of Shullsburg.

On Friday, Jan. 17:

●  A deputy came upon an abandoned vehicle at 1:34 a.m. on County G, Town of Argyle.

●  Deont’e Janeil D. Massey-Beavers, 24, Dubuque, Iowa, was cited for driving without a valid license and no proof of vehicle insurance at 6:26 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 9:03 a.m. on Furnace Hill Road, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Seth M. Behm, 33, Cambridge, was transported from the Iowa County Jail to the Lafayette County Jail at 10:23 a.m. on a Lafayette County warrant. He was booked into the jail and remained in custody.

On Saturday, Jan. 18:

●  A deputy responded at 2:43 a.m. to West Liberty Street in Belmont to assist Belmont police.

●  An animal problem was reported at 10:39 a.m. on Riverside Road, Town of Wiota.

●  Nelson Anger, 79, Rockford, Illinois, was cited for speeding at 1:42 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington.

●  A deputy responded at 2:40 p.m. to County I, Town of New Diggings, for a residential alarm.

●  Preston E. A. Martin, 18, Shullsburg, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after deputies responded at 2:46 p.m. to East Main Street in Shullsburg for a disorderly conduct complaint. Martin was taken to the jail, where he was booked and released.

●  Criminal damage to property was reported at 4:41 p.m. on Mullen Road, Town of Shullsburg.

●  Tyler J. Doran, 29, Blanchardville, was cited for driving with a suspended license at 7:03 p.m. on North State Street in Argyle.

●  A civil dispute was reported at 7:12 p.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs.

●  Gavin R. Burdick, 21, Mineral Point, was arrested on a charge of driving with a revoked license at 9:40 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. He was taken to the jail, where he was booked and released.

●  Scot R. Tollakson, 47, South Wayne, was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of operating while intoxicated after a deputy stopped him for an equipment violation at 12:29 a.m. at South Broad Street and Monroe Street in Argyle. He was jailed. He was also cited for having open intoxicants in the vehicle.

●  Lyndsay M. Houtakker, 34, Cuba City, was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated at 12:55 a.m. in the 30000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Benton. She was released to a responsible party.

●  A deputy responded to check welfare at 3:55 a.m. on Main Street in Gratiot.

●  Livestock on the roadway was reported at 5 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Elk Grove.
