MONROE — Smoke coming from a chimney was reported in the 2600 block of 8th Avenue at 4:53 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13. The resident reported smelling something and got worried, but firefighters located no fire or cause for concern.

●  An electrical fire in a wall was reported at a residence in the 600 block of 17th Avenue at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18. A contractor had accidentally hit a wire with his drill bit. He already had the small fire extinguished by the time firefighters arrived.
