The Herman “Connie” Burkhard and Walter Share gas station on the corner of 6th St and 20th Ave can still be seen. A grocery store and apartment existed to the east. Old St Clare Hospital can be seen in the background. Comments or interesting remembrances can be noted to the Historical Society at PO Box 804 or Linda Lostetter at lostetter68@gmail.com. Photo is from our Pictorial Histories that are available for purchase at the Green County Historical Museum in Monroe. They make wonderful gifts for the historical minded.

The Historical Society will hold its Annual Meeting outside on Saturday afternoon, June 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Lincoln Park. The public is invited to bring a lawn chair to attend the meeting and following the meeting, the Water Tower will be open. Since so many did not see the inside two years ago, GCHS wants everyone to be able to see and appreciate the gem that was voted the “best water tower in Wisconsin.”
