MONROE - General Federation of Woman's Clubs Poetry/Short Story winners for 2010 were announced recently.

Category 1 for first, second and third grades:

• Poetry first: Jasmin Corning received a second place at State competition

• Poetry second: Melloan Dunlavey received a third place at State competition

• Poetry third: Hunter Harris

• Short Story first: Cammi Ganshert

• Short Story second: Ava Lovett received a third place at State competition

• Short Story third: Lauren Hlubek received a second place at State competition

Category 2 for fourth, fifth and sixth grades:

• Poetry first: Kelsi Babler received a third place at State competition

• Poetry second: Sydney Mathiason received a second place at State competition

• Poetry third: Allison Miller received a first place at State competition

• Short Story first: Dealia Carlino received a second place at State competition

• Short Story second: Sydney Mathiason received a first place at State competition

• Short Story third: Katelyn Black received a third place at State competition

Category 3 for seventh, eighth and ninth grades:

• Poetry first: Gwen Ambrose

• Poetry second: Emily Gerrits received a second place at State competition

• Short Story first: Emily Gerrits received a third place at State competition

• Short Story second: Celia Kline

Category 4 for 10th, 11th and 12th grades:
