MONROE - Monroe Clinic Volunteers In Partnership (VIPs) plans to award five $1,500 scholarships to students seeking a degree in a health-related field. Applications are open to any student who is one of the following:
a Green County resident,
a graduate of a Green County high school,
a Monroe Clinic employee or child of a Monroe Clinic employee, or
a resident of a community where a branch of Monroe Clinic is located (Lena, Freeport, Durand, Blanchardville, New Glarus, Albany, Brodhead).
To be eligible for a scholarship, candidates must have completed at least one year of study (post-high school) in a health-related field or be enrolled in a completion program in a health-related field. The successful applicants will be selected on scholastic merit, citizenship, need and expressed interest in the healthcare field.
Scholarship applications are available at Monroe Clinic's Human Resources Office, located on the first floor of the hospital building in Monroe. Applications are due May 1, 2008.
Formerly known as Monroe Clinic Auxiliary, Monroe Clinic VIPs offer non-direct care to benefit the Clinic and supplement the mission of Monroe Clinic. VIPs help to promote community goodwill and understanding of the Clinic, contribute funds for support of the Clinic mission, and provide yearly scholarships for students in the health care field.
