Blood drive collects 24 units

SOUTH WAYNE - The American Red Cross blood drive on March 25 at the Village Inn collected 24 units of blood, missing the quota by one. There were 27 donors presented with one deferral and two incompletes.

There were no first-timers. James Stietz received his 13 gallon pin. Other donors were Tonya Liphart, Chris Ray Dearth, Davis Renker, Cheryl Dale, Grant Dale, Mary Zimmerman, Konnye Hull, Roseann DeVoe, Robert Hull, Herb Tornow, Marlene Zimmerman, Ken Anderson, Tracy William, Tom Wellnitz, Eleanor Gille, Mary McKnight, Connie Meier, Joan Jenson, Don Seffrood, Jenny Burns, Gray Burns, Loretta Brummel, Chuck Wick, Lonnie Stauffer, Ed Ernst and Travis Skattum.

Donating to the food canteen were Valley View Cheese, cheese; South Wayne Mart, milk; St. John's Catholic Church, sandwiches; Joyce Paulson and Kathryn Larson, sandwiches; Pat Baumgartner, Lori Sawdey and Connie Meier, cookies; Susie Junk, crackers; and the Village Inn, coffee.

Workers for the day were Kathryn Larson, Carole Broge, Susie Junk, Lori Sawdey and Connie Meier.

The next drive in South Wayne will be May 27.
