Orioles, Warriors upend Cards

BRODHEAD - Argyle's Ashley Bruehlman and Brianne Connors combined for six hits to lead the Orioles to a 13-4 win over Brodhead on Saturday.

Both Bruhelman and Connors had three hits to power Argyle. Argyle sophomore Morgan Nelson and Connors each had three RBI. Teammate Sloan Flannery had two RBI.

The Orioles led just 3-1 going into the fourth inning. The Orioles broke the game open with a four-run fifth to take a 7-1 lead. The Cardinals committed four errors.

Argyle scored five runs in the seventh to seal the win. Brodhead sophomore McKayla Hayes had a game-best four hits to lead the Cardinals.

Argyle junior Kayla-Butler Paulson pitched a complete game to get the win. She gave up four runs on 13 hits. She struck out five.

Brodhead's Azzy Steiner pitched six innings and gave up eight runs. She struck out eight and walked two.



Black Hawk 6, Brodhead 3

BRODHEAD - Brodhead out-hit Black Hawk, but the Warriors came back to knock off the Cardinals 6-3 on Saturday.

Both Brodhead junior Michelle Loeffelholz and Steiner had two hits to lead the Cardinals to eight hits as a team. The Warriors finished with five hits. The Cardinals were plagued by three errors. Steiner had two RBI for the Cardinals.

Black Hawk junior Morgyn Stauffacher had two hits and junior Jordyn Delzer had two RBI to lead the Warriors.

Black Hawk senior Rachel Ritschard pitched six innings to get the win. She gave up three runs on eight hits. Ritschard struck out three.

Steiner for the Cardinals pitched six innings and struck out three. She gave up six runs on five hits.
