Edgewood 46, Monroe 14

MONROE — The Division 4 seventh-ranked Crusaders tallied more than 460 yards of offense en route to a 46-14 victory over the host Cheesemakers on Sept. 25.

Edgewood led 27-14 at halftime and quickly made it 34-14 just over a minute into the third quarter. The Crusaders (5-1, 4-0 Badger Small) would score twice more before the final whistle.

Jack Lovell was 17 of 23 passing for 308 yards and four touchdowns, while Hunter Milota had 21 carries for 125 yards and three scores.

Monroe (1-5, 1-3) amassed 279 rushing yards and 294 yards of total offense. Sophomore Jace Riese led the way with 19 carries for 112 yards, while Tristen Anderson had 74 yards on 15 carries and a score. QB Ryan Roelli had 36 yards rushing and a touchdown, with another 15 yards through the air. Caleb Mazahreh led the Cheesemakers with 13 total tackles, including eight solo. Dilon Sweeney had two tackles for loss.

Up next for Monroe is homecoming against Mount Horeb/Barneveld (3-3, 2-2) on Oct. 2. Prior to the game, the Cheesemakers will introduce the inaugural class of the school’s new Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. the following day, free of charge.

Black Hawk/Warren 50, Pecatonica/Argyle 14

WARREN — The Warriors exploded for over 500 yards of offense and put themselves in position to clinch a guaranteed postseason berth in Week 7, as well as stay afloat for a possible conference title. Five of the eight teams in the Six Rivers have identical 3-1 conference records

Dax Paquin had five rushing TDs for BHW (4-2, 3-1), finishing the night with 166 yards on just 13 carries (12.8 ypc).

The Warriors went up 16-8 after the first quarter, but the Vikings (3-3, 1-3) narrowed the gap to 24-14 by halftime. In the third quarter, BHW exploded for three TDs to take a commanding 44-14 advantage.

Brody Argall had 66 yards rushing on two carries and a 12-yard reception for the Warriors. Trent Bidlingmaier had a 55-yard touchdown reception on a pass from QB Beau Podnar. Podnar finished with 67 passing yards and 99 rushing yards, plus a rushing score. Beau Janecke added another 100 yards rushing on nine carries. Defensively, Bowen Wilson had an interception and Joe Ketchpaw recovered a fumble for the Warriors.

Vikings QB Martin Anderson was 12-for-22 passing for 160 yards and two scores while adding another 27 yards rushing. Brock Erickson had a team-high 70-yards rushing, while Charlie Krebs tallied 32 yards on four carries. Bo Stateler finished the night with five catches for 70 yards and both TD receptions. Jonah Hanson led Pec/Argyle with 14 tackles, while Erickson had 13. Hanson also recovered a fumble.

Up next for BHW is Riverdale (4-2, 3-1), while Pec/Argyle will host Potosi/Cassville (4-2, 3-1).

Darlington 45, Fennimore 6

FENNIMORE — Division 5’s top-ranked program kept rolling in Week 6. Darlington led the Eagles 24-0 at halftime and 31-0 through three quarters. The Redbirds were efficient in their offense, accumulating 284 yards on just 33 plays (8.6 ypp), while Fennimore gained just 163 on 54 plays (3.0 ypp).

The scoring opened early in the first quarter as Tag Goebel returned a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown. QB Zeke Zuberbuhler made it a two-score game with an 11-yard run later in the first. Zuberbuhler scored again with 2:22 left in the half, and Yasser Andino-Andino added a field goal.

In the second half, Calum Crist had two TD runs, including a long of 56-yards. James Monfil-Cervantes also scored a touchdown for the Redbirds.

Crist led unbeaten Darlington (6-0, 4-0 SWAL) with 134 yards rushing on just 11 carries. Zuberbuhler had 43 yards on seven totes. As a team, the Redbirds averaged 8.7 yards per carry.

Maximo Xolo led Darlington with 14 tackles, including six solo and one for a loss. Sloan Glendenning had 10 tackles, six solo and two TFLs. The Redbirds as a whole had seven TFLs. Goebel recovered two fumbles, and Andino-Andino intercepted a pass.

In Week 7, Darlington looks to take sole possession of the SWAL, as the Redbirds host Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg (5-1, 4-0), the last remaining unbeaten team in the conference.

New Glarus 45, Richland Center 7

NEW GLARUS — The Division 5 seventh-ranked Glarner Knights moved to 5-1 on the season and took another step toward clinching a playoff berth with a convincing win over the Hornets in Week 6.

New Glarus (5-1, 3-1 SWAL) scored 14 points in the first quarter and 17 more in the second to go ahead 31-0 by halftime. The Knights added two more scores in the third quarter to trigger the running clock.

Quinn Marty threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way. Carson Prechel had 116 rushing yards and a TD on just 10 carries, and Brady Baer had 25 yards and two TDs on five totes. Six different Knights caught a pass, with Brock Roth and Tucker Sysko each hauling in TD scores. Roth added a 63-yard pick-6. Ethan Colstad also had an interception, and Noah Garcia recovered a fumble. Gavin O’Bel led New Glarus with seven tackles, including five solo, two for a loss and a sack. Garcia had six tackles, all solo, with three for a loss and a sack.

The Knights can clinch a guaranteed spot in the playoffs with a victory over winless Southwestern/East Dubuque (0-6, 0-4) in Week 7.

Belleville 41, Poynette 0

BELLEVILLE — The Wildcats dominated the Pumas in Week 6, holding firm on their grasp as co-leaders of the Eastern Suburban Conference along with 10th-ranked Pardeeville (6-0, 4-0).

Belleville (5-1, 4-0) out-gained Poynette (4-2, 2-2) in yardage 355-181.

Rayden Taylor had 99 yards and two scores through the air on 8 of 17 passing. He added 88 yards and two TDs on the ground. Jackson Fahey added 125 yards and a TD run on 12 carries. Corbin Burchard also scored a rushing touchdown. Max McCluskey had two catches for 39 yards and two scores.

Defensively, Taylor and Dawson Smith each recovered a fumble, both of which were forced by Marcus Hebgen, who led the Wildcats with nine tackles, including four solo and one for a loss. Tyler Miyamoto had an interception. Dylan Kremer had seven tackles, including three for a loss.

Belleville will travel to Waterloo (1-5, 0-4) in Week 7.

Lancaster 45, Brodhead/Juda 6

BRODHEAD — The Flying Arrows dominated the second half. Lancaster led the Cardinals 19-6 at halftime following a late Brodhead/Juda score. In the second half, the Arrows (2-4, 2-2 SWC) held the line and out-scored the Cardinals 26-0.

QB Toay Ragatz had 94 passing yards, 85 rushing yards and four total TDs for Lancaster. Trason Fishnick added 134 yards rushing on just 12 carries with another score.

Brodhead/Juda’s lone touchdown came with 26 seconds left in the first half. Running a two-minute offense trailing 19-0, the Cardinals marched 64 yards down the field on eight plays. The drive was capped with a 28-yard TD pass from Kraig Walter to Andrew Hardy.

Brodhead/Juda (0-6, 0-4) travel to Richland Center (1-5, 0-4) in Week 7.

Randolph/Cambria-Friesland 43, Parkview/Albany 8

RANDOLPH — The Vikings had 171 yards of offense and turned the ball over three times in a Week 6 loss to D6’s No. 7-ranked team.

Connor Knutson had 47 passing yards and a TD toss to Adley Crane for Parkview/Albany’s lone score. Louis Nath had 44 rushing yards and Elijah Gunn added 43 more on the ground. RCF led 22-0 after the first quarter, 36-0 at halftime and 43-0 through three quarters. RCF (6-0, 4-0 Trailways) had 401 yards of offense.

Parkview/Albany (1-5, 1-3) hosts Johnson Creek (2-4, 2-2) in Week 7.
