NEW GLARUS — New Glarus High School students earned an average ACT composite score of 23.2 on the spring 2026 statewide 11th-grade assessment, ranking sixth highest among Wisconsin school districts. The results are a significant accomplishment for the school and reflect the hard work of students, the dedication of staff, and the support of families and the community.

Only Whitefish Bay, Elmbrook, Arrowhead Union High School, Cedarburg, and Middleton-Cross Plains Area High School scored higher than New Glarus High School. The ACT, which is required for all juniors, was taken in March of 2026.

“We are proud of our students and the work they put into their education each day,” said New Glarus High School Principal Jeff Worzella. “This is a great accomplishment and reflects the commitment of our students, teachers, families, and community. We appreciate the work our staff does to challenge students, support their learning, and help prepare them for life after high school.”

The ACT is a college-readiness assessment that measures student skills in English, mathematics, reading, and science. While ACT scores are one measure of academic achievement, New Glarus High School continues to focus on preparing all students for success after graduation, whether they pursue college, technical education, military service, or careers.

New Glarus School District congratulates the students and staff who contributed to this accomplishment and appreciates the continued support of families and the community in helping students reach their potential.
