MONROE — On July 14, the Green County Board passed a moratorium on data centers. In collaboration with Green County, UW-Madison Division of Extension Green County will host two educational sessions for Green County residents on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

The educational sessions will include both an informational presentation as well as time for questions. Both sessions will feature the same format and educational information.

Topics covered will include an overview of what data centers are, the overall infrastructure for data centers, common topics regarding data centers, and what local government entities can do regarding data center regulations. Attendees can also write down their questions and perspectives to be shared with Green County Board members.

Session information:

● The first session will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Albany Lion’s Club (402 N. Cincinnati Street, Albany).

● The second session will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Green County Justice Center lower level multipurpose rooms (2841 6th Street, Monroe).
