WHITEWATER — Brodhead graduate Abbie Dix was one of six defensive players nominated for the WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for September 25.

UW-Whitewater, ranked No. 8 in Division III, fell to UW-Oshkosh, ranked. No. 3 in Division III, in three sets on Wednesday, Sept. 20. In the match, Dix tallied six kills, two blocks and two digs. 

The Warhawks rebounded on Friday, Sept. 22 for a sweep of Augustana. Dix led the team with six blocks. She also registered another 10 kills in 15 attacks.

Abby Fregien, a junior from UW-Oshkosh, was named the defensive volleyball Athlete of the Week.

Fregien led the Titans to a 4-0 record on the road during the week, including a sweep of UW-Whitewater on Sept. 20. It was UW-Oshkosh’s first sweep of the Warhawks since the 1994 WIAC Tournament title match. She averaged 4.23 digs per set, including 16 against Ripon College (Wis.) and a season-high 24 digs against Aurora University (Ill.), both at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Sept. 23.
