Roy Meier age 92 of Wiota, WI, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI 

He was born July 24, 1927 in Monroe, WI, the son of Jacob and Mary (Wyder) Meier. Roy graduated from Monroe High School in 1944. He was united in marriage to Helen Peterson on May 25, 1957 at Yellowstone Lutheran Church. Roy lived and farmed in the Wiota area until retiring in 2000.

Roy is survived by two children: Heidi (Steve) Brenum and Kent (Jill) Meier both of Wiota, WI; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and one brother: Ray (Leona) Meier of Wiota. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Helen on January 11, 1981; and one brother: Eugene Meier on April 5, 2003.

Roy was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church and past council member. He was also a past Board member of Lafayette County Creamery and Wiota Township. Roy enjoyed Bowling and Golf for many years and was also an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea following the Korean War. Roy will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Road 78, South Wayne, WI), with Rev. Tracy A. Maass of Wiota Lutheran Church officiating. A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church. Burial will be in East Wiota Cemetery in Wiota township, Lafayette county.
