Todd Fergot this week was announced as the next Executive Director of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.

The Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association announced that the WBCA Executive Board has confirmed Todd Fergot as the next Executive Director.

Todd has been the head boys basketball coach at La Crosse Central since 2004, leading the Riverhawks to six state tournament appearances, including the Division 2 state championship in 2022. Fergot has served on the WBCA Executive Board since 2023, including as the liaison to the WIAA during that time. He is also a member of the WIAA Basketball Coaches Advisory Committee. Fergot has been a WBCA member for more than 25 years.

In addition to 22 years as the head coach at La Crosse Central, where he has a 393-141 record, Fergot spent three seasons as the head coach at Saint Croix Falls, as he has an overall career head coaching record of 405-192.

In Fergot’s 22 years at La Crosse Central, he coached two WBCA Mr. Basketball recipients, Kobe King and Johnny Davis, as well as 17 WBCA All-Star players. He also played in the WBCA All-Star Game in 1988 following his high school career, coached in the game as a head coach in 2015, and served as an assistant all-star game coach four times.

Fergot has been heavily involved in recent WBCA initiatives around state tournament expansion and the shot clock, and will continue to focus on these along with increasing girls basketball participation.

“I am extremely honored to be chosen as the next WBCA Executive Director and look forward to continuing on the path that Coach Petitgoue set for our association so many years ago,” said Fergot. “As we all know, Coach Petitgoue was an amazing man both on and off the court, and with Joan at his side every step of the way, they were able to take Wisconsin basketball to new heights that were previously never imagined. Together, it is now our responsibility to carry his vision forward and continue to grow this great game that we so dearly love.”
