Daryl Meighan, age 76, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 at U.W. Hospital surrounded by his family. Daryl was born in Stephenson County on July 1, 1949, the son of Clarence and Lois (Wales) Meighan. Daryl and Judy Brooks were married on July 28, 1974 at the Clarno Zion United Methodist Church. Daryl drove truck most of his life for Foodliner, Saputo, and Klondike Cheese. Daryl enjoyed card club with his Clarno friends, Gene and Barb Sveom, Denny and Kim Matzke, and Bob and Barb Alston. He enjoyed going to the casino, his classic cars, camping, fishing, and all the fun trips with Jim and Julie Jaeggi and family. He was an avid Packer and NASCAR fan and in his younger years he enjoyed bowling, family snowmobile trips up North, and car races. His favorite driver to follow around the state every weekend was Dick Trickle. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be forever missed.

Daryl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Meighan; daughter, Angela Meighan; and sons, Jeremy (Michele) Meighan, David (Sherry) Meighan, all of Monroe. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Mercedes Coplien (Brenden Breault), Tristen Anglin, Cole and Maverick Meighan; siblings, Loreane (Kim) Hendrickson of Argyle, Virgil (Pat) Meighan of Scioto Mills, IL, Gary (Betty) Meighan of Darlington, Dennis (Regina) Meighan of Monroe; and brother-in-law, Gerald Miller of Browntown. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Miller; and brother, Wayne Meighan.

A celebration of Daryl’s life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund will be established in his name. The NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
