Joseph LeRoy Lewis, 80, has passed away on January 03, 2025, at his home in Tucson, AZ. Joe spent his early years on a farm in Wisconsin, delivering milk in the early mornings before school. After graduation, Joe taught school before embarking on a career with the airlines that spanned four decades and ultimately brought him to Tucson, AZ.

Joe spent 30+ years committed to enriching the lives of the youths of Tucson. In 2009, he was inducted into the Tucson Youth Football & Spirit Federation Hall of Fame with the following citation:

When asked what he wished his legacy to be, Joe simply answered: Loved the Kids & Granddaughters

Joe is survived by: Children: Carrie Lewis Ough, Chris Lewis and Carla Lewis. Grandchildren: Sarah Lewis, Samantha Lewis and Allison Lewis.

Preceded in death by: Mother and Father: J. Bereniece (Anderson) Lewis and LeRoy Lewis; Brothers: Gary Lewis, Andrew Lewis and Randall Lewis; Sister: Karen (Lewis) Hoeft.

Memorial service and interment will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Evergreen Cemetery, 3015 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85705
