Morgan Blum is participating in the Bike.Build.Home 500 ride (formerly the Habitat 500), a 5-day, 350-plus mile ride in Minnesota. The ride is from July 15-19 and is based in Mankato, Minn. This is the 16th ride over the past 20 years for Blum, formerly of Monroe, and the money he raises benefits Habitat for Humanity of Green County. The ride aims to “Create a Cycle of Hope” and raise awareness for affordable housing.
Data shows that after moving into their Habitat home, 90% of homeowners feel better about their children’s futures. With the public’s financial support, Habitat for Humanity can continue to build and repair homes alongside families and individuals around the world and in local areas such as Green County.
“I was born and raised in Monroe, graduating from MHS in 1991 and this ride gives me an opportunity to give back to a community that played an important role during those formative years,” Blum said. “I’m asking for assistance to help raise awareness, support and money for Habitat for Humanity.”
Through generosity in prior years, Blum has raised approximately $30,000 for Green County’s Habitat organization. To donate, go to https://tinyurl.com/3f468cse or send checks payable to Habitat for Humanity of Green County, Wisconsin and put “Morgan Blum” in the memo line. As of July 5, the event had raised more than $11,000 in online donations for this year.
“Thank you in advance for your prayers and monetary support and I hope to get to meet and thank you personally during one of my trips back to Monroe when visiting,” he said.
