Charles “Charlie” Owen Chapman, age 85, of Monroe formerly of Darlington, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Monroe Health Services. He was born the son of Charles K. and Emma Mae (Field) Chapman on March 11, 1939 in Darlington. He was a graduate of Darlington High School and later completed schooling to become a Licensed Mechanic at Vo-Tech School. Charlie was united in marriage to Linda Lou Hagan on March 6, 1965.

Charles proudly served in the US Army from 1962-1964. He was a lifelong farmer in the Darlington area; he and Linda worked alongside one another on their farm for many years. In his free time, Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Darlington.

Charles is survived by his children, Scott (Rita) Chapman and Suzy Semanco; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his brother, Leonard Chapman. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Donna and Naomi.

Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.
