Gloria Jean Feller

Gloria Jean Feller, age 85, of Monroe, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at her home. She was born on December 5, 1940, in Monroe, to Wilbur and Erma (Klingbeil) Hixson.

She graduated from Monroe High School in 1958, married later that year, and was blessed with three children - Cindy, Sandra, and Steven.

Gloria took considerable pride in caring for her family and her home. She enjoyed sharing the adventures of her children and had a fun-loving sense of humor.

A gifted cook and baker, she delighted in decorating cakes as a hobby for various occasions.

Gloria had a natural talent for music. She could play by ear and played the organ, piano, and accordion. She especially enjoyed playing duets with her father as he accompanied her on the violin.

She was an avid curler in her younger years and a long-time member of the Monroe Curling Club. Gloria was also a member of a weekly women’s card club for more than 40 years.

Later in life, she was a member of the Red Hat Society, loved collecting Longaberger baskets and shopping on QVC. Additionally, she had an extensive collection of cookbooks from her many travels.

She was a longtime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Gloria’s memory will be cherished by her children, Cindy Fane of Sterling, IL and Steven (Carola) Feller of Messel, Germany; grandchildren, Colin (Carly) Fane of Oak Park, IL, Anne (Roland) Wehr, Eva Grunert and Jenny Grunert, all of Germany; great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Edison, and Desmond Fane and Wiona and Janno Wehr; her brother, Alan (Delores) Hixson of Couderay, WI; her lifelong friend, Barb Rufi and former husband Richard Feller, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Feller; sister, Carol (John) Buehler; son-in-law, Michael Fane, and mother- and father-in-law, Rose and Robert Feller.

Gloria’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Janet Wenger for all the years of compassionate care and friendship, as well as caregiver and companion, Joyce Ethridge.
