Lodi holds off Cheese Knights

Monroe-New Glarus swimming Lauren Zentner competes in the 100 butterfly.

LODI — The Monroe-New Glarus Cheese Knights swim team competed against the Lodi Co-op, falling 117-51.

Lauren Zentner continued to be a key contributor for the team, earning a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle and a second-place finish in the 100 butterfly. Kennedy Shunk also continued her strong performance in the backstroke, winning the 100 backstroke for the second consecutive week.

“The team is continuing to work on racing while tired and trying different events to help build versatility throughout the season,” coach Rachel Root said. “The girls supported one another throughout the meet and truly looked like they were having fun together.”
