New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — No injuries and minor damages were reported from a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 14th Avenue at 2nd Street at 3:36 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2. All parties were wearing their seatbelts. The vehicles were driven from the scene.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Saturday, Sept. 1:

•  Christine M. Stephens, 60, Cuba City, reported hitting a cow at 8:41 p.m. on Carr Factory Road, Town of Benton. No injuries were reported. Her 2007 Dodge sustained moderate damage and was towed.

On Sunday, Sept. 2:

•  A minor one-vehicle accident was reported at 6:05 a.m. on Patch Road, Town of Gratiot.

•  A minor accident was reported at 11:22 a.m. on West Main Street in Benton.

•  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 3:25 p.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Seymour. Darlington Ambulance and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted on scene.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5:

•  Minor injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident reported at 3:41 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont. Semi driver Yusuf A. Farah, 32, Minneapolis, Minnesota, was pulling out of a private driveway when a 2012 Dodge driven by Tienna K. Heino, 31, Livingston, veered into the ditch line to avoid striking the semi. Heino’s Dodge and Farah’s 2007 Freightliner sustained minor damage. Southwest EMS and the Platteville Fire Department assisted on scene.

•   Madisen S. Moon, 21, Platteville, reported striking a deer on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont, at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8. No injuries were reported. Moon’s 2010 Volkswagen Jetta sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Friday, Sept. 7:

•  Taylor D. Hawkinson, 19, Brodhead, was taken by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER for treatment of injuries he sustained in a one-vehicle crash reported at 4:33 a.m. in the Town of Spring Grove. He was eastbound in the W2300 block of County K when he lost control on a curve. The vehicle went off the road, hit a traffic sign and fence and came to rest in a field. The airbags did not deploy, but the vehicle was damaged and left at the scene. Hawkinson will be cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and driving without vehicle insurance.

•  A dog was injured in an accident reported at 3:12 p.m. in the W5000 block of Allison Road, Town of Washington. Jessica L. Scace, 32, Monroe, was westbound when a dog entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle. She reported no injuries. The vehicle was damaged and driven from the scene. The airbags did not deploy. The injured dog was turned over to its owner.

On Sunday, Sept. 9:

•  Tyler A. Schwartzlow, 20, Brodhead, was injured in a one-vehicle crash in the W5200 block of County EE, Town of Mount Pleasant. Deputies arrived at 4:56 a.m. to find that Schwartzlow, the driver, had left the scene. Investigation revealed he was eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer and his vehicle went into the ditch, overturned and came to rest in a cornfield. He then left the scene, with injuries. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed. The airbags did not deploy. Schwartzlow was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, failure to maintain control of a vehicle, underage possession of alcohol and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
