Monroe Police

MONROE - Dennis E. Carpenter Jr., 21, Monroe, was arrested at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, March 20, in the 100 block of North 20th Avenue for driving a vehicle without the owner's consent, bail jumping, forgery and theft by fraud. Carpenter was jailed pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Thursday, March 20:

• A deputy assisted Darlington Police with a suspicious activity case at 1:06 a.m. at a location on Main Street, Darlington. The complainant was receiving harassing messages.

• A deputy responded at 6:26 a.m. to Wis. 81, Lamont Township, to dispose of a deer carcass in the roadway.

• A deputy assisted the Grant County Sheriff's Department with investigating a stolen vehicle complaint at 8:40 a.m. at a location in Dickeyville.

• Kyle B. Steiner, 23, Brodhead, was arrested at 10:55 a.m. for driving after suspension, no insurance and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on East Louisa Street, Darlington. Steiner was later released to a responsible party.

• A deputy assisted in locating the owner of a dog, which had been hit by a vehicle on Main Street, Benton at 12:23 p.m.

• A deputy made contact with several individuals who were going door to door selling merchandise at 1:39 p.m. in Benton.

• Tyler J. Meyer, 28, Blanchardville, was arrested at 2:09 p.m. for driving after revocation, speeding and an expired vehicle registration on Wis. 78, Blanchardville. Meyer remains jailed.

• A deputy assisted with locating a 6-year-old child at 4:30 p.m. who rode the wrong bus home from Black Hawk Schools, South Wayne. The child got off at another child's residence on Chapman Road, Gratiot Township. School district officials assisted with transporting the child to her residence in Green County.



Darlington Police

DARLINGTON - Ashley Love, 30, Rewey, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. Thursday, March 20, for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Wis. 23.
