On July 24:

● 1:12 p.m. A deputy responded to Clayton LN, Elk Grove Township for trespassing.

● 3:16 p.m. A deputy responded to Woods Branch LN, Kendall Township for an abandoned vehicle.

On July 25:

● 10:44 a.m. A deputy responded to CTH K, Darlington Township for suspicious circumstances.

On July 26: 

● 8:40 a.m. A deputy responded to Mineral RD, Seymour Township for an abandoned vehicle.

● 10:47 a.m. Deputies responded to E High ST in the Village of South Wayne for a theft.

● 2:02 p.m. A deputy responded to STH 78, Wiota Township for a two vehicle accident. Stacy A Thomas Castro, 46, Verona was traveling westbound in her 2021 Mazda when she was attempting to turn into a parking lot when she was rear ended by a 2010 Chevrolet being operated by Keaton L Pickel, 21, Scales Mound, IL. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were towed from the scene with disabling damage. Pickel was cited for Inattentive Driving.

● 3:18 p.m. Argyle Fire responded to CHT G, Argyle Township for a wheat field on fire.

● 8:11 p.m. Shullsburg Fire and EMS responded to S Judgement ST in the City for a fire coming from a bathroom fan. A deputy assisted on scene.

On July 27:

● 7:11 a.m. Curtis D Blosch, 24, Darlington reported striking a deer on Red Rock RD, Darlington Township. No injuries were reported and Blosch’s 2014 Chevrolet received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

● 12:01 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH W, New Diggings Township for a one vehicle accident. Shane A Cheesebro, 43, Monroe was traveling eastbound on CTH W in a 2005 Ford when he lost control and entered the ditch, striking a power pole. Cheesebro denied injuries and was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated, 3rd Offense. Cheesebro was transported to the Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and released to a responsible party. Cheesebro was also cited for Operating after Revocation and Failure to Maintain Control. The vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Benton First and Fire assisted on scene.

● 2:15 p.m. A deputy responded to Dobbs RD, Lamont Township for criminal damage.

● 9:22 p.m. Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to Wells ST in the City for a one vehicle accident.

On July 28:

● 1:21 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Shullsburg Township for a hit and run.

● 3:51 a.m. Deputies responded to S Penn ST in the Village of Belmont for suspicious activity.

● 2:03 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH I, New Diggings Township for threats.

● 2:39 p.m. A deputy responded to CTH G, Kendall Township for property damage.

On July 29:

● 6:41 a.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a vehicle in the ditch. 

● 6:49 a.m. Deputies responded to Country Club RD, Darlington Township for criminal damage. 

● 10:46 a.m. Mackenzie K. Torstenson, 31, Mineral Point was travelling on CTH G, Belmont Township when she hydroplaned causing her to leave the roadway and enter a corn field. Torstenson reported no injuries. Torstenson’s 2021 Dodge received functional damage and was driven from the scene. 

● 11:00 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Village of South Wayne for illegal dumping. 

● 4:27 p.m. Jared A. Jones, 41, Darlington was arrested on CTH K, Darlington Township for a Probation Violation. Jones was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and remains.

● 5:04 p.m. A deputy responded to Arbor ST, Village of Benton for threats. 

● 8:23 p.m. A deputy responded to Mason ST, Village of Blanchardville for suspicious activity.

On July 30:

● 2:35 a.m. Olvin O. Avila-Ortez, 35, Belmont was arrested for Operating after Revocation, Failure to Install IID, and Bail Jumping. Avila-Ortez was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released on bond.

● 3:19 a.m. Deputies responded to W Liberty ST, Village of Belmont for an assault.

● 5:09 p.m. Todd C. Woodworth, 60, Shullsburg was arrested for Operating while Intoxicated (OWI — 3rd Offense) on STH 11, City of Shullsburg. Woodworth was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released to a responsible party after posting bond.

On July 31:

● 10:22 a.m. A deputy responded to Dunbarton RD, Shullsburg Township for a theft.

● 4:50 p.m. A deputy responded to Dunbarton RD, Shullsburg Township for a theft.

● 11:33 p.m. A deputy responded to Truman RD, Kendall Township for suspicious activity.
