FENNIMORE — The Southwestern Wisconsin Behavioral Health Partnership, in conjunction with SWCAP’s expanded Community Wellness Group, is hosting its fifth annual Mental Health Summit, in person at the Southwest Technical College on May 23 from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. There’s also a virtual option.

As the host of this year’s summit, the Community Wellness Group is committed to providing a safe and inclusive space where community members can come together to learn, share, and connect. By attending this summit, you’ll be supporting the important work by helping to create a more supportive and thriving community for everyone. 

“Throughout the day, we’ll have inspiring speakers, informative breakout sessions, and valuable networking opportunities,” said Chris Frakes, Community Wellness Group Program Director. 


Keynote presentation: 

●  Hear from Prairie du Chien students about the Wheel of Protective Factors, a core concept of Sources of Strength, and how they’re leading campaigns to improve mental health in their school.


Breakout session opportunities: 

●  Attend a two-hour workshop on empathetic listening, COMET (Changing Our Mental and Emotional Trajectory).

●  Examine the many faces of grief and discuss how to work through this complex emotion in ourselves and others.

●  Learn about the defining characteristics of Peer Support and how it is growing in depth and popularity.
