On April 5:

● 6:39 p.m. A deputy, Darlington Fire and Lafayette County EMS responded to Furnace Hill RD, Willow Springs Township for a one vehicle accident. Joshua A. Johnson, 42, Mineral Point was traveling on Furnace Hill RD when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, struck an embankment, causing his truck to overturn and come to a rest on its roof in a creek. Johnson was transported to the hospital for significant injuries sustained in the crash. The 2004 Chevrolet operated by Johnson received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Johnson was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and Possession of THC.

On April 6:

● 1:52 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 23, Willow Springs Township for a one-vehicle accident. Landon L. Hermanson, 21, Mineral Point was traveling on STH 23 when he struck a horse. Hermanson reported no injuries. Hermanson’s 2019 Freightliner received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Iowa County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

● 7:43 a.m. A deputy responded to STH 11, Shullsburg Township for a one-vehicle accident. Nancy A. Heimann, 65, Gratiot was traveling on STH 11 when she entered the construction zone and drove into a trench. Heimann reported no injuries. She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. Heimann’s 2016 Audi received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On April 8:

● 2:12 a.m. Hermenegildo Atluhua-Mayuhua, 30, Darlington was arrested for Operating After Revocation (OAR) on STH 11, Village of Gratiot. Atluhua-Mayuhua was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond.

● 7:32 a.m. Deputies responded to Bean Street RD, Benton Township for a check welfare. As a result, Daniel L. Sersch, 42, Janesville was arrested for Operating After Revocation, Possession of THC, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sersch was transported to Lafayette County Jail where he was booked and later released after posting bond.

● 9:08 a.m. A deputy responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a two vehicle accident. Kyle E. Johnson, 37, Madison was traveling on USH 151 when he was rearended by Aaron C. Fitzsimons, 39, Belmont. Neither Johnson nor Fitzsimons reported any injuries. Johnson’s 2017 Ford and Fitzsimons’ 2017 Chevrolet received functional damage and were both driven from the scene. Fitzsimons was cited for Inattentive Driving.

On April 9:

● 8:27 p.m. A deputy and Belmont Fire responded to USH 151, Belmont Township for a semi trailer on fire. Juan C. Juarez Vazquez, 55, Stockton CA was traveling on USH 151 when his semi trailer caught fire. Juarez Vazquez reported no injuries. The 2026 Peterbilt operated by Juarez Vazquez received disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

On April 13:

● 5:04 p.m. A deputy, South Wayne Fire, South Wayne First Response, Argyle EMS, and Green County EMS responded to CTH D, Village of South Wayne for a two vehicle accident. William J. Engelke, 58, South Wayne was traveling on CTH D when he yielded to an oncoming vehicle. Jolee E. Ubersox, 33, South Wayne was following Engelke on CTH D when she struck the rear end of Engelke’s vehicle. Neither Engelke nor Ubersox reported any injuries. Engelke’s 1996 Chevrolet received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Ubersox’s 2013 Honda received functional damage and was driven from the scene. Ubersox was cited for Following Too Closely.

On April 14:

● 3:21 p.m. A deputy assisted Probation and Parole on S McKnight ST, Village of South Wayne. As a result, Kathleen M. Kay, 67, South Wayne was arrested on a valid Department of Corrections Warrant. Kay was transported to Lafayette County Jail where she was booked and remains.
