Argyle Community Center Open House highlights progress of capital campaign
The Argyle Community Center and Public Library, 321 E. Milwaukee Street, will host an open house from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 27 in conjunction with the annual Argyle Fish Fry

The Argyle Library Board and the Friends of the Argyle Public Library will host their third Open House for the new Argyle Community Center, located at 321 E. Milwaukee Street, on Saturday, June 27, from 2 to 8 p.m., in conjunction with the annual Fish Fry.

The Community Center will feature a greatly expanded home for the Argyle Public Library. Open House highlights will include an opportunity to view and purchase raffle tickets for a king-size quilt, tour the building and review renovation plans, and browse a large used book sale offered on a free-will donation basis.

The Friends have partnered with the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin to assist with a capital campaign to renovate the building, purchase new library furnishings, reduce building debt, and substantially grow the Library’s Endowment Fund.

To date, more than $300,000 has been raised through the campaign, thanks largely to the generosity of individuals and families. The Friends are now expanding their fundraising efforts by reaching out to area businesses and increasing participation in the 145 Years of Service Campaign.

The Argyle Women’s Club has partnered with the Friends and the Library on the 145 Years of Service Campaign, which provides an opportunity for women to support the Community Center and provides a way for anyone to recognize and honor a special woman — a mother, grandmother, mentor, teacher, friend, or community leader — whose influence has made a lasting difference or enduring mark on the Argyle community. Honorees will be recognized on an artfully designed permanent display within the Community Center, ensuring that their contributions and legacy are remembered for generations to come.

For more information about the Open House, the capital campaign, or the 145 Years of Service Campaign, community members are encouraged to attend the event on June 27 or contact Linda Gebhardt at Linda@cfsw.org or 608.758.0883, Ext. 7007.
