LAKE MILLS — Kate Parman and Ellie Brenkman each scored two goals, Cora Funseth and Nikole Schultz had two assists, while Bailey McGuire got a goal and an assist to lead the Sugar River Raiders to an 8-0 rout of the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors in Capitol Conference girls soccer on Tuesday, May 5.
Parman scored her first goal on an assist by Schultz at 8:31 in the first half for a 1-0 lead. Ella Woodmansee scored at 12:24 with an assist by McGuire to make it 2-0. Sophomore Alyssa Minter got her first career goal with Schultz on the assist at 27:59 for a 3-0 Sugar River lead. Ellie Brenkman found the back of the net with Funseth on the assist at 35:21 to give the Raiders a 4-0 halftime lead.
There was more of the same in the second half as Parman scored at 50:45 on the second assist of the night by Funseth to give the Raiders a 5-0 advantage. Brenkman made it two goals on the night by scoring at 63:17 on freshman Maya Crennel’s assist. Freshman Libby Iserloth made it 7-0 with an unassisted goal at 63:50. McGuire scored the final goal at 66:33 with Brenkman credited with the assist.
The match was stopped at 66 minutes due to the mercy rule.
Senior Savanah Minter had six saves at goalkeeper and Greer Coppernoll had one save at goalkeeper for Sugar River. The Raiders had 14 total shots with eight shots on goal.
Sugar River (8-2-1, 3-1 Capitol Conference) had McFarland on their schedule for a nonconference match on Friday, May 8.

MONROE — Platteville/Lancaster shutout the Monroe Cheesemakers 8-0 in nonconference girls soccer on Tuesday, May 5. It was the fourth time this season the Cheesemakers were shut out.
“We’re fighting through illness and injury and were missing a couple of key players tonight,” said Monroe coach Samantha Rudi. “Regardless, it wasn’t our best showing, and we look forward to playing better on Thursday (May 7).”
Monroe traveled to East Troy for a Rock Valley Conference match on Thursday, May 7.
