BRODHEAD — Better Brodhead is sponsoring a Safe Driving Event from 2-8 p.m. on April 27. The event is free to Green County students and community members. It will take place in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church parking lot in Brodhead.
The Arrive Alive program utilizes a high-tech simulator vehicle to educate students and community members about unsafe driving behaviors. More specifically, the simulator allows for participants to experience (in a controlled environment) the potential consequences of distracted driving and driving while intoxicated, to help prevent them from making this mistake in the future.
The Safe Driving Event will also feature the Seat Belt Convincer from the Dept. of Transportation that will demonstrate the value of wearing a seatbelt. There will also be an opportunity for individuals to meet with driving instructors and insurance agents to discuss their programs for new drivers.
